Jan Douša

Jan pursues documentary photography. He is a studio assistant in the atelier of Viktor Kolář at the Department of Photography at the Film and TV School of Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. He exhibits his work at individual and collective exhibitions in the Czech Republic as well as abroad, e.g. in Beijing, Berlin, Luxembourg City, Copenhagen, Prague, Boskovice etc. In 2010 he won the 1st prize in the competition project “Two Faces of Prague” (“Dvě tváře Prahy”) and among other things he has participated in the organization of the documentary photography workshop in Cizre in eastern Turkey. He also cooperated on the photography project coordinated by M. Bregant and J. Bárta to help preserve the building of the cargo train station of Praha Žižkov. Jan Douša has been working long-term on an authorial documentary project focused on the matters in the area of Kurdistan in Turkey and Iraq.
